FAQ'S
What is a full-day session like?
A full-day session typically starts early in the morning and lasts into the early evening. Every project varies, as some collectors can sit longer than others. For example, some full days may extend to 8 plus hours depending on the design’s complexity. Not all full day sessions last 8 hours, as some clients prefer to do shorter day sessions around 6-7 hours. During your consultation call, Jake will discuss your preferred session length and pain tolerance to determine the most accurate time estimate for both pricing and overall planning. Because every client is unique, full-day sessions may vary slightly in duration and cost based on individual needs. This is not a one size fits all arrangement—each project is fully customized to you.
Short breaks are provided throughout the session as needed to manage comfort levels, along with a dedicated 45 minute-1 hour lunch break. This extended pause allows both the artist and client to stretch, refresh, and maintain focus for the remainder of the session.
Each full-day booking is reserved exclusively for one client, prioritizing quality and precision above all. There will be no rush during our full day session; the day is yours only.
How do I prepare for my session?
Please ensure you get a restful night’s sleep before your session. On the morning of, have a nutritious breakfast and stay well hydrated. Jake recommends bringing a few snacks and a beverage for your comfort; complimentary snacks and water will also be provided. Please refrain from shaving the tattoo area yourself. Jake will handle this to minimize the risk of irritation.
What if my project requires multiple sessions?
During your consultation with Jake, he will explore options with you for reducing the overall cost of multi-day projects. Certain projects, such as back pieces or sleeves, may require 3-5 sessions to complete in full. Rather than booking individual full-day sessions, Jake can work with you to develop a tailored multi-day project plan, which will help lower your total cost on large projects.
Is a deposit required to book?
Yes, a minimum non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to secure your full day session(s). This covers the custom graphic design Jake will be doing for your specific project.
The deposit goes towards the final cost of your tattoo. To reschedule a session, please allow at least five days notice so Jake can re-fill the full day slot. Deposits will be forfeited for cancellations within 5 days of scheduled appointment time or no shows.
AFTERCARE DIRECTIONS
Remove the bandage/wrap after 2+ hours. Do not leave the traditional plastic wrap on overnight or for more than 4 hours. If you would like an extended protection bandage ask Jake about the second skin aftercare solution; these are waterproof and breathable for 2 days.
Wash with a non-scented anti bacterial hand soap (Dial rain water recommended).
Shower and wash the tattoo with a washed hand to cleanse the fresh wound. Don't scrape or rub roughly. Just enough to cleanse. Avoid baths or prolonged swimming for the first 3 weeks minimum.
Don't use a bath towel to dry the tattoo, pat dry with a clean paper towel. When you get out of the shower, allow the tattoo to air dry after you pat it dry. Give it about 15-20 minutes of drying before applying your choice of aftercare balm or non-scented white lotion.
Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare balm (Tattoo Goo, Hustle Butter, Mad Rabbit, etc.). Don't apply too much and create a moist area, just rub it in until it has a thin layer. Too much gunked up can make healing take even longer. It's better to be on the light side than the heavy side. It needs to breath to heal! Let your skin breath and it will heal like a normal wound. The more air it gets, the more natural it will be for your fresh ink.
After a few days to a week, switch to a non-scented white lotion (Lubriderm recommended or any tattoo brand lotion).
Use the lotion to heal the tattoo for the next month. Apply the lotion in the same fashion as the balm. Reapply lotion when it dries out and starts to peel, most people apply lotion to a fresh tattoo about 3-4 times max per day.
Don't peel or pick any scabbing that may occur. This is completely normal and is apart of the skin's healing process. Picking at the skin's attempt to heal can cause minor scarring. Just wash your tattoo and let it heal on it's own.
Always wear sunscreen with your new tattoo, even when it heals. It is especially important to not expose the fresh tattoo to the direct sun for prolonged periods of time. If you must do this, wear a high sun block sunscreen. SPF 45 or higher is recommended for summer time beach trips.
